Shinih posted highest revenue growth in April among fabric makers

Taipei, May 9, 2003 (CENS)--Shinih Enterprise Co., Ltd., among three listed local fabric manufacturers, recorded the highest annual revenue growth of 23%.

The other two companies are Formosa Taffeta Co., Ltd. And De Licacy Industrial Co., Ltd. Formosa Taffeta and De Licacy are listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange while Shinih on the local over-the-counter bourse.

Shinih is a producer of non-woven fabric. Together with its domestic and overseas subsidiaries, Shinih rang up total revenue of NT$167 million last month, rising by 23% from April last year but dropping by 15.66% from March this year. The company raked in total revenue of NT$653 million in the first four months of this year, growing by 16% from the same four months of 2002.

Formosa Taffeta garnered revenue of NT$1.753 billion last month, rising by 9.63% from the NT$1.599 billion recorded a year earlier. The company brought in four-month revenue of NT$6.562 billion, growing by 15.04% from the NT$5.704 billion posted in January-April 2002.

De Licacy produces fabric made from filament yarn. The company's revenue of NT$269 million for last month went up by 1.13% from the NT$266 million registered a year earlier and by 29.33% from the NT$208 million received in the preceding month. The company's four-month revenue stood at NT$844 million, dipping by 5.27% from the same period of last year.
