Taiwan's polyester textured yarn stock down in Feb.

Taipei, March 27, 2003 (CENS)--The inventory volume of polyester textured yarn in Taiwan stood at 54,999 metric tons at the end of February, decreasing by 4.60% from the end of January this year.

According to the Taiwan Association of Synthetic Stretch Yarn Industries, the domestic inventory volume of polyester textured yarn at the end of February this year dropped by 2,652 metric tons or 4.60% from the 57,651 metric tons posted at the end of the preceding month.

All domestic producers of polyester textured yarn turned out 77,866 metric tons last month, dropping by 6,561 metric tons or 7.77% from the 84,427 metric tons produced in January this year. In the meantime, the total delivery volume for February stood at 80,519 metric tons, decreasing by 7,038 metric tons or 8.04% from the 87,557 metric tons sold in January, the association indicated.

Meanwhile, the total stock volume of polyester filament yarn, the material of polyester textured yarn, rose by 2,071 metric tons or 5.09% from the 40,660 metric tons at the end of January 2003 to the 42,731 metric tons at the end of last month. However, the 18,586 metric tons of polyester filament yarn exported last month slipped by 5,099 metric tons or 21.53% from the 23,685 metric tons posted in the preceding month.
