Taipei, July 22, 2003 (CENS)--The Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association (TEEMA) will establish a branch office in Shanghai to improve the services to member companies that have already set up business operations in mainland China.

Participants in a meeting of representatives from Taiwanese-invested corporations on the mainland said the TEEMA's branch there can join hands with 68 associations organized by Taiwanese investors on the mainland to better serve member firms.

TEEMA officials said industry organizations can set up joint service offices with the 68 associations on the other side of the Taiwan Strait. The first office will be established in Shanghai.

The services will include including the personnel training for the associations. The TEEMA has decided to cooperate with the Importers & Exporters Association of Taipei (IEAT) to organize a large delegation to visit the mainland in September.

The organization has planned four more trade missions to visit the mainland during the second half of 2003. It is also organizing Taiwan delegations to take part in 12 major trade exhibitions to be held on the mainland and Hong Kong before the end of December.
