Precision Components From Gin Chan Keep Grinding Machines Running Smoothly

Gin Chan Machinery Co., Ltd., established in 1988, is a professional manufacturer of precision accessories for grinding machines and milling machines. The company exports these components under the "Gin" brand to markets around the world.

The company's commitment to research is evident in the many patents it has earned over the years. These innovative designs are one of the major factors of the company's success.

To meet an ever-increasing flow of orders, last year Gin Chan moved to a 3,000-square-meter plant in Taipei County. The second plant specializes in the manufacture of precision accessories for grinding machine and milling machines. It has also enabled sufficient volume for the company to lure original equipment manufacturing (OEM) orders.

To supply Taiwanese-invested firms in mainland China, Gin Chan established a subsidiary with a 3,000-square-meter plant in Guangdong province in 1997. Over the last seven years, the mainland plant has doubled its workforce from 60 to 120. At present, the mainland plant specializes in molds, parts and after-sale services.

"To ensure the high quality of our product lines, we have installed many sophisticated production machines imported from Japan, Germany and the U.S.," notes Andy Chang, president of Gin Chan. The high-end production equipment includes two CNC lathes, 11 CNC milling machines, two CNC cylindrical grinding machines, two internal grinding machines, 40 surface grinding machines, an electrical discharge machine, and a set of measuring equipment.

Currently the company's major product lines can be divided into three major categories, including accessories for grinding machines (punch formers, punch grinders, grinding wheel dressers, magnetic tools, tool-making vises, and various kinds of fixtures), accessories for milling machines (dividing heads, vertical rotary tables, various kinds of vises, and boring heads), accessories for molds and dies (ejector pins, sleeves, guide bushes, guide pillars, locking block sets, slide locks, and other components).

At present the company's major export outlets are Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, Europe, the U.S. and Latin America.
