Ecowin Corp., established in 1993, is one of Taiwan's best-known manufacturers of electric discharge machines (EDMs), including semi-automated and fully automated models.

The company boasts it was a domestic pioneer in developing digitalized EDM control system and employing the 'Heidenhan' fully digitalized discharge system. A few years ago the company began producing PC (personal computer)-based CNC (computerized numerically controlled) EDM control and discharge system through its own development.

Lai His-hsien, president of the company, says he has accumulated over 25 years of manufacturing experience in the EDM sector. Based on Lai's abundant development experience and the dedication of the R&D team, the company concentrates on the production of high-end EDMs only.
Lai says his company has never thought of moving production facilities overseas as it owns cutting-edge technologies to survive the international marketplace. He notes it's not necessary for capable manufacturers to relocate plants overseas just for the reason of taking advantage of cheaper production costs.

The company boasts it has upgraded its production to fully transistorized CNC EDMs, from the original hydraulic servo-control models and transistorized conventional ones.

Ecowin's dedication to developing advanced technologies has helped it make a complete range of EDM lines, including PC-based ZNC and PNC models with the function of side erosion and multi-cavity displacement, and the PC-based CNC EDMs, featuring high discharge efficiency, high speed in processing, low electrode wear, and mold-surface refining process.

Based on the operating motto of 'Precision, Creative Value, Practicality,' Ecowin is capable of providing total mold-making solution to meet the specific need of customers from various manufacturing fields.

The company's medium- and large-size models are suitable for aerospace, automotive, electronics and electric, and magnesium-alloy mold industries. Its precision CNC models are suitable for the industries of fiber-optic communication components, precision automotive parts, plastic toys, zinc and aluminum alloy mold application.

Ecowin notes it employs 32-bit PC-based control system on its CNC models to ensure high stability and reliability in operation. The CNC models come with both Chinese and English instructions to ensure easy learning and operation.
