Established in 1971, Denver Industrial Co. is an experienced specialist maker of precision lathes, milling machines, and cutting centers. The company sells its quality units on both an own-brand and original-equipment manufacturing (OEM) basis.

Over the years the firm has grown steadily and is today a leading international machinery supplier, shipping to customers worldwide in fields as diverse as airplane production, shipbuilding, and oil exploration. The company has a monthly capacity of about 30 machines.

Denver unveiled its sector-defining DM-180 vertical-type milling machine in 2001, which was developed in cooperation with a European customer. The advanced model features several advantages, including front-located hand-wheels, an advanced hydraulic-clutch system, ball-screw X- and Y-axes, and a rapid-feeding system. Company chairman Kao Yuan-tang says that the model has proven especially popular in Europe, and has won an outstanding reputation for quality in all markets.

As part of the firm's ongoing production-upgrade efforts, it is currently cooperating with an affiliate of the local Pou Chen Group, the world's largest shoemaking conglomerate, in adopting the most advanced computerized numerically controlled (CNC) modules. With the high-level control technology provided by the partner, Kuo is excited about the trend-defining functions and operational interfaces being brought to his company's machinery products.

The chairman states that the goal in creating each Denver-made lathe and milling machine is to enable the greatest efficiency for the enterprise's customers worldwide.

In the company's efforts at development of heavy-duty precision lathes, Kao says that the firm's goal has been the best-possible understanding of the market's ever more stringent demands and the upgrading of locally-made models.

Kao states that he is never satisfied with Denver's success of the moment. On the contrary, he says, an ever greater amount of the company's revenues-gross and percentage--is poured into the development of what, more often than not, emerge as the most advanced and highest-precision models in the line, especially CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, cutting centers, and other specific-use machines. With an integrated development and production focus, Denver's machine products have proven most valuable and as a result are now exported to over 20 nations in North America, Europe and Southeast Asia.

The company focuses on the establishment of long-term cooperative ties with buyers, wherein de facto partnerships are formed, and the supply of quality machines on an original design/equipment manufacturing (ODM/OEM) basis has become its core business.
