Introduction

Established in 1984, Weing Panasonic originally focused on making floor lamps. But in order to diversify market risks, we added table lamps and halogen commercial lights into our product line about three years ago. Having maintained steady sales growth in our three major products, we will gradually continue diversifying our product assortment into other lighting products. Currently, nearly 30% of our products are exported to Europe, while the remaining 70% goes to the U.S. We expect to further expand our marketing network to other countries worldwide.

In order to acquire massive amounts of low-cost labor, we set up a factory (Everwin Lighting Factory) in Dongguan, in Guangdong Province, mainland China in 1992, which is one of the largest lighting factories in mainland China in terms of area and annual output. Occupying an area of 252,000 sq. ft., our mainland-based factory has monthly exports exceeding 400 containers. Over the past six years, our mainland factory has continued to expand its scale with new manufacturing lines. And, due

to the large-scale operations, the daily traffic of the factory is nearly 170 trucks for loading and unloading. Producing three major lighting products as well, this 800-worker factory mainly handles the assembly of semifinished products. Having a monthly output equal to that of our Taiwan-based factory, this factory has become our major manufacturing base.

We attribute the great success of our mainland factory to our effective computerized management system, streamlined production procedures and strict quality control system. Our well-developed factory management of the mainland factory especially earned ISO-9002 approval in 1997. This has helped us to precisely control the factory's operation and achieve outstanding results. Each manufacturing line, staffed with approximately 100 workers, turns out a lighting fixture every 10 seconds. We are also proud of our strict quality control system. Each of our staff members in the

factory has been trained to act like a consumer as to pay continuous attention to product quality through each step of the entire manufacturing procedure.
