In 1993, our total production capacity hit 1.5 million bicycles per year after we acquired Pantech Bicycle Co., Ltd., located in mainland China.

In late 1993, Merida reached an agreement with the largest bicycle manufacturer in Japan--Bridgestone Cycle Co., Ltd.--to provide them with 100,000 bicycles annually beginning 1994.

Amerida is a registered trademark in France, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Belgium and Japan. Merida has also established Merida Germany, Merida U.K. and Merida Japan to offer direct service to dealers.

Athe U.S., Europe and Japan are Merida's primary markets.
