UUMAX has produced more than 80% of our products under the UMAX brand name. Our products are sold in over 70 nations around the world in addition to enjoying strong sales in our domestic market. In the span of 10 years, the UMAX brand name has achieved widespread international recognition, climbing steadily in annual revenue rankings. UMAX has also earned numerous awards for our high-end flatbed scanners.

Uour next step is the expansion of our overseas markets based on our well-established brand-name image. In order to achieve this goal, we will provide faster and better service to customers by integrating our distribution resources.

Uas a wave of vertical integration sweeps through the high-tech world, UMAX is at the heart of a very open strategic alliance. We have reorganized and focused our energies into six core business units: Image and OA Group, Multimedia and Peripheral Group, Portable Computer Group, PC and Workstation Group, Communication Group, and New Product Group.In addition, we are taking advantage of international cooperation technology transfer and resource sharing to further develop these business units. Among the companies we have invested in are Eiltegroup Computer Systems Inc. (one of the world's largest makers of PC motherboards), Newsoft Technology Inc., and Eten Information System Co., Ltd. (a specialist in Chinese system software).

Uat the end of 1994, we teamed up with Mitsubishi Electronic Engineering, Kanematsu Corp., and several well-established domestic partners to establish the Powerchip Semiconductor Corp. In 1997, we began cooperation with Intel to produce high-end PC workstations. And in a move to enter the communications market, we have invested in E-Tech Inc.Furthermore, we are formally entering the computer distribution market through cooperation with various distribution networks.
