Latin America is a wonderful opportunity for the use of polymers in various applications • Latin America has been considered for a long time for its important potential in terms of polymer’s demand growth. In a short term this trend could be a reality and providers and vendors of the continent should be prepared. • PLASTIMAGEN MÉXICO® will be, in March 2016, the space and time to the presentation of raw materials, machinery and first class equipment for the plastics industry in Mexico and Latin America in order, of course, to enhance its growing and development. • PLASTIMAGEN MÉXICO® is celebrating its XX edition with the best exposition space and an important Plastic Summit: More than 850 booths with the representation of 1600 brands of 25 countries. We can expect the visit of 30,000 decision makers in our 40,000 m2 of exhibition area. It is true that the region has been navigating trough strong winds of trouble in terms of economics, in fact, the economic results have been determined, in great manner, for the economies of the largest countries (México, Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela), which in 2014 y 2015 have experienced the biggest economic weakness since de global crisis of 2009. However, it is a general consensus that the region will see a stronger economic behavior in 2016, with a wealthy 2% growth in the Growth Domestic Product (GDP), thanks, primarily, to the return of the global economic expansion, the addition of alien investments and the growth of profitabilities. In Mexico, for example, during the XLVII Foro Nacional de la Industria Química, the Secretary of Economy of the Federal Government, Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, said that the national chemical industry is ready to take a huge new step in the growing of both, investments and creation of employments, thanks, of course, to the structural reforms the Government is aiming since two years ago. In fact, it is expected that companies will obtain better electricity fares and more access to gas and, thanks also to private investment, to products of petrochemical industry. This structural changes are, we must say, complemented with actions taken regarding commercial politics, such as the conclusion of the negotiations regarding the Transpacific Association Agreement, which will definitely open new opportunities to some of the more promising economies of Asia Pacific, which will be vectoring two thirds of the global demand of petrochemicals during the next decade. We are talking of a market of more than 20 countries that represent a wide variety of prospects in the polymer demand: More than 500 million young people living in the urban zones, countries which growth is no longer determined only for its natural resources, minerals and commodities, but for the increment of consuming markets, which at the same time, increment the demand for a huge range of products that involve plastics. It also continues to be significant investments in infrastructure for the transformation of plastics (in order to achieve the replacement of importations), which is an excellent vector of the higher demand of polymers for a lot of applications and markets. “We are highly optimistic about the potential of industrial growth in Mexico and Latin America”, confirms José Navarro, director general de E.J. Krause de México. “We want to give our best effort in contributing to the business strategy of the transmorfation companies.
