Taichung Machine Tool Exhibition 2017 Generates Biz Opportunities Worth Some NT$1 Bn.

Taichung Machine Tool Exhibition 2017 (TMTE 2017), held November 2-6, rounded off with encouraging results, with nearly 70,000 professional buyers and visitors attending to together generate about NT$1 billion (US$33 million) worth of business opportunities.

Showcasing a wide spectrum of exhibits categorized into seven groups and covering CNC lathes, machine tools, cutting tools, auto lathes, self-control inspection systems, and industrial machines, TMTE 2017, with around 300 exhibitors at home and from broad, represented a thorough supply chain of CNC machinery and offered international buyers “ONE-STOP SHOPPING” service.

Mainly on steady global economic recovery and growing investments by enterprises in fixed assets, total output of Taiwan's machinery industry last year increased by 3.6 percent to NT$990 billion; and is expected to exceed NT$1 trillion this year.

Aiming to accelerating Taiwan's industrial upgrade, the government is now promoting the so-called “smart machine” industrial innovation policy with a vision to transform Taichung into a smart machine city. In response to the policy, TMTE 2017 served as a multifunctional platform, allowing business insiders to exchange ideas, to integrate resources from the industry, academy and government, and to inject energy to the market.

At the show, many of the most renowned machine tool manufacturers were present, including Maxmill, Yih Dyen, Fongei, Ge Fong, Welltech, Barload, and etc.

Also, Technology Advanced Metropolitan Area Association (TAMA), a business promoting organization from Japan, was invited to promote the “industrial equipment manufacturers matchmaking” during the exhibition.

More notable is that TMTE 2017 won the financial support from "Taiwan Exhibition Competitiveness Enhancement Program", which enabled the exhibition host to provide more accommodation subsidies to better solicit professional buyers around the world, so as to create more business opportunities for Taiwanese firms.

In addition, the host launched “EDN TMTE” app, offering digital business matchmaking services to effectively increase the connection between buyers and exhibitors. Besides, the participants who downloaded the app would be able to obtain free gift vouchers and fast access to the show.
