Jointly organized by the China Illumination Engineering Society (CIES), China Solid State Lighting Alliance (CSA) and Hong Kong Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd. and promoted as the largest lighting trade fair in northern China, China Lighting Expo 2016 will be held April 14-16 at the China International Exhibition Center, Beijing, China (Sanyuan West Bridge).

Underpinning the bright outlook of the lighting market in China is an April 2014 online report by Research and Markets (the world's largest market research store according to its website), whose analysts forecast the LED lighting market in China to grow at a CAGR of 26.9 percent over the period 2013-2018. Commenting on the report, an analyst said that the market could face some headwind to restrain growth due to existence of a large number of vendors. However, the market is witnessing consolidation, which could reduce the number of vendors and increase the production of innovative lighting products.

In addition and according to an online Reuters report of Nov. 2014, citing state media, China approved more than $100 billion worth of infrastructural projects in late October and early November in a bid to bolster slowing growth in the world's second largest economy. China's top economic planning body, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), approved 21 infrastructural investment projects between Oct. 16 and Nov. 5 with a total investment value of 693.3 billion yuan (US$113.24 billion), including 16 railways and five airports that aim to offset a decline in real estate investment, said the official Xinhua news agency.

Tapping the advantages of Beijing's unique political and commercial resources with plenty of large-scale construction projects, the upcoming exhibition will be further expanded to not just present wider range of lighting products, technologies and related services, but offer a conducive platform on which business opportunities may be created between exhibitors and buyers, who will mostly be enterprises in engineering, architectural and lighting design, retail, wholesale, etc.

This year's China Lighting Expo will have specialized products among other features to impress visitors. For example, there will be a range of professional lighting designed for museums and exhibition spaces containing valuable objects, which differ in wavelengths emitted relative to typical lighting sources for it is designed not only to enhance visible quality of exhibits, but more importantly without damaging irreplaceable relics and art objects, hence being subject to higher standards than most lighting applications. Visitors will have opportunity to experience such lighting, while specialists from museums, lighting designers and construction industry will demonstrate a virtual museum at the Museum Lighting Experience Zone. Notably, two globally-known branded vendors specializing in such technology will showcase special lighting effect on different antiques and design concepts.

The Museum Lighting Experience Zone will be be in the booth 8E33 of Hall 8, sponsored by ERCO and AKZU.

Informative Thematic Presentations

China Lighting Expo 2016 is more than a lighting product showcase but also an opportunity for conscientious lighting operators and insiders to broaden their horizons and keep up to current trends. A series of relevant topics will be presented by industry experts that will be of interest to a range of participants along the lighting supply chain as well as global media. In addition to the technological presentations, various award ceremonies will be held alongside the trade fair.

Four core topics will be presented this year, including standard and technology, design and engineering, user applications, intelligent technology.
