Taiwan's labor market is expected to grow by a quarterly 44,000 employees in Q1, 2015, a 3-year high for quarterly growth, according to a survey by the Ministry of Labor (MOL).

The service sector is estimated to add 22,000 workers and industrial sector 21,000 workers,  a 4-year high.

T. S. Liu, director of Statistics Department of MOL, attributes the expected rise in recruitment to foreseeable economic recovery that encourages metal products, electronic parts and machinery sectors to hire more workers. For instance, the electronic parts industry plans to recruit 4,759 persons in Q1, 2015, double that of 2013 to set a 4-year high.

The lodging and F&B sectors intend to add 5,579 workers, a 6-year high, with support services to add 3,000 workers, mostly by the security industry. (JL)
