Taiwan Government Promotes 77 Investment Projects Totaling US$84.5B. in First 8 Months

Some 77 investment projects have been promoted by Taiwan's  government in the first eight months of this year with value of NT$84.5 billion (US$2.82 billion), nearing the full-year goal of NT$100 billion (US$3.33 billion), according to Taiwan's Ministry of Finance (MOF).

Compared to the same period of last year, such value surged 111% and is estimated to contribute NT$53.5 billion (US$1.78 billion) to national coffer, reduce governmental spending by NT$28.3 billion (US$943.33 million), and create some 14,246 jobs.

Next year the government will reportedly release issue 71 public projects to private investors, to likely generate businesses exceeding NT$130 billion (US$4.33 billion), with the central government to issue 25 projects that may attract private investments exceeding NT$71.8 billion (US$2.39 billion).
