2014/05/29 | By Steve Chuang

With multi-purpose in mind and to reinforce exchanges and cooperation in foods and food-making equipment between Taiwan and ASEAN member countries, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and  Taiwan Food & Pharmacy Machinery Manufacturers' Association (TFPMA)   visited Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines to promote Taiwan-made foods, food-making equipment, and the upcoming FoodTech & PharmaTech Taipei 2014 (Taipei Int'l Food Processing & Pharma, Machinery Show).

To that end, TAITRA and TFPMA held three seminars in Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta and Manila to introduce current development of Taiwan's food and food-making machinery industries to local buyers, and shed light on business potential of bilateral cooperation between operators from Taiwan and Southeast Asia.

The promotion generated positive results, with  the three seminars attracting around 220 local suppliers and buyers from related industries. According to TAITRA, the turnout included such heavyweight food makers as Viet Sin Commercial Services, ABC Bakery, PT. Indofood Fritolay Makmur, PT. Bionic Natura, Regent Foods, San Miguel Foods, Sho Da Food Exchange, as well as large-sized food-making machinery suppliers.

TAITRA and TFPMA also focused on promoting the upcoming FoodTech & PharmaTech Taipei 2014, scheduled for June 25-28 in TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall and TWTC Exhibition Hall 1.

Organized jointly by TAITRA and TFPMA, the annual exhibition is the world's only trade fair gathering suppliers from food production, food processing, packaging machines, and food service equipment sectors, featuring a thorough supply chain.

Last year, the show hosted 1,557 exhibitors across 3,637 booths, and drew more than 65,000 visitors from home and over 30 countries. Of total 6,588 foreign buyers, over 40% were from the ASEAN bloc.

As Taiwan's best-known export media, CENS will be at the exhibition with the booth numbered I0019 this year, during which CENS will provide useful buyer guides, including Taiwan Machinery and Taiwan Plastic & Rubber, Package and Printing Machinery Special, and real-time business matchmaking services to buyers in need of high-performance food and packaging machinery made in Taiwan.
