Over 1,000 exhibitors from 12 economies will be at the HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition), to be staged  April 6-9 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, which is projected to draw considerable number of buyers from the retail, brand-name operation, architect, interior-design, and property-development sectors. In 2013, over 18,000 buyers came to the spring lighting show, 18% more than in the previous year.

The 2014 exhibition will include products and technologies grouped into several themes, including World of LED & Green Lighting, Hall of Aurora, Display World, World of Chandeliers, Avenue of Inspiration, and Raw Materials & Elements.

Avenue of Inspiration and Raw Materials & Elements are the first-time themes, with the former dedicated to emerging local designers and design students showcasing innovative designs integrated into lighting. Avenue of Inspiration is located in Hall 3D.

Raw Materials & Elements zone has been specifically designed to help lighting manufacturers source materials such as specialized chemicals, metals and glass machines.

World of LED & Green Lighting zone is the largest in the spring fair with over 300 quality exhibitors, who provide increasingly popular LED and environmentally-friendly lighting products. Including many cost-efficient choices that help build a more sustainable future, these products can improve performance while minimizing power consumption to benefit people and organizations. For the first time, exhibitors from Malaysia and Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, respectively, organize regional pavilions at the zone.

Hall of Aurora is a zone  dedicated to brand-name products in distinguished designs and quality, with this zone to host more than 140 international exhibitors, including Gentos, TCL, and Viribright.

Display World zone shows promotional displays and lighting displays for marketing or advertising purposes.

World of Chandeliers features chandeliers of innovative and classical designs at various price points to suit different budgets.

A series of informative events will be held, with the highlighted Asian Lighting Forum concentrating on two hot topics: global market trends for lighting product development and LED technology advancement and applications. Seminar topics will also include lighting design trends, the fashion and function of lighting, and LED applications in the modern age.

Exhibitors' forums at the show provide visitors the opportunity to interact directly with exhibitors introducing new products. Buyers will offer opinions on business prospects in ASEAN countries and developed countries.

This year, the lighting fair will host the Hong Kong Lighting Design Competition again, with theme for this year being “Blossom Blooms”. Designs in the competition will be judged on originality and creativity in addition to aesthetics and how well they could be marketed. Winning designs will be on display at the fairground throughout the event while the award presentation will be held on the evening of April 7.
