Tainan Enterprises Expands Operation in Indonesia

To meet growing orders, Tainan Enterprises Co., Taiwan's leading garment maker, has recently invested US$10 million or about NT$300 million to expand its Indonesian garment plant.

The investment aims to add  production lines in Indonesia to 110 from the current 70 and the expansion is slated for completion by June 2014, to  enhance monthly output of the plant to 1.4 million pieces of garments from 1.1 million.

The company's Indonesian plant is its largest, followed by the Cambodian plant whose monthly output stands at 700,000 pieces of garments. Besides, the company has two plants in China, one in Jiangsu Province and the other in Henan Province, both of which generate 600,000-700,000 pieces of garments a month.

Tainan Enterprises is expected to see monthly output expand to three million pieces of garments by the end of 2014 after the start-up of new production lines in Indonesia.

F. C. Yang, president of the company, indicates that Tainan Enterprises supplies globally known garment makers as GAP, Ann Taylor, and TSAM to turn out items branded GAP, Old Navy, Loft, White House Black Market, Limited, etc. Besides, it has also received orders from Micheal Kors, a famous U.S. brand; and Reitmans, a Canadian brand and also a new client.

Tainan Enterprises achieved an estimated 10% rise in average sale price (ASP) of products in 2013 and expects 20% growth in revenues for 2014 due to growing market demand. (JL)
