Founded in 1989 in Taoyuan, northern Taiwan, Yison Interior Textiles Co. is now one of the island's leading furniture upholstery manufacturers. It supplies fabrics for use on furniture items including sofas, chairs, curtains, cushions, and partition surfacing, among others.

“To stay competitive in the market, we have been working very hard to upgrade our manufacturing technologies and facilities,” comments a senior Yison official. “We have purchased advanced machinery from Japan and Germany, and we set up an automatic warehousing system in 1998 to speed up delivery and control inventory. “In addition, we have kept paring manufacturing costs by streamlining our facilities and labor force.”

To keep pace with the worldwide trend toward environmental protection, Yison has in recent years devoted greater efforts to the development of multifunctional and eco-friendly fabrics which are recyclable, flame-retardant, anti-bacterial, and resistant to ultraviolet rays. The fabrics are available in a variety of colors and patterns.

The company produces around 300,000 yards of fabrics a month and sells most of under its own brand, ‘Yison,' serving the domestic and export markets about equally. Exports go mainly to the United States, Canada, Europe, and Southeast Asia.

To accommodate different customer tastes, Yison develops new fabrics every three to six months and patents them in both Taiwan and the United States.
