CENS Present at 10 Global Trade Shows in November

To help Taiwanese manufacturers build business opportunities globally, CENS attended 10 overseas trade shows in November, including AAPEX Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo, SEMA Show, China International Industry Fair (CIIF), International Motorcycle Exhibition Milan Fair (EICMA), InterLight Moscow, Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS), Korea Auto Parts & Auto-related Industries Show (KOAA), Plastics & Rubber Indonesia/Propak Indonesia (PPP Indonesia), China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition (Auto Guanhgzhou), and International Automotive Supply Industry Components, Accessories & Service Equipment Exhibition (OTOMOTIV).

AAPEX (Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo) represents the US$395 billion global motor vehicle aftermarket. The 2011 edition, held Nov. 1-3 at the Sands Expo Convention Center, Las Vegas, attracted about 2,200 exhibitors from nearly 50 countries spread across 1.1 million square meters, representing the air conditioning, automotive lighting, electrical systems & batteries, cooling systems, friction & brake systems, undercar, new & remanufactured replacement parts, suspension & front end, engine & transmission parts, appearance chemicals & functional fluids, equipment & tools, computer systems & software, paint, body, and retail warehouse fixtures sectors.

The three-day event drew 59,751 qualified visitors and buyers with 15,056 being from overseas and 44,695 domestic, with most of the buyers manly auto parts wholesalers, retailers, service chains etc.

CENS sent a circulation specialist to promote publications at the show with Taiwan Transportation Equipment Guide (TTG) and China Transportation Equipment Guide (CTG) being the most popular.

SEMA

Considered the premier automotive specialty products trade event globally, the SEMA Show this year was held Nov. 1-4 alongside AAPEX, across 1.86 million square meters and attracting about 65,000 visitors.

SEMA 2011 was segmented into 12 sections, with a new products showcase featuring nearly 1,500 newly introduced parts, tools and components. Not only the year's best opportunity for the specialty auto equipment industry to do business, SEMA also was ground zero for builders, fabricators, designers, engineers in the auto customization segment, where they gather to show, exchange and be updated with the latest tricks to turn stock vehicles into fantasies.

Like AAPEX, CENS also sent a circulation specialist to promote its buyer guides, with TTG and CTG capturing ample attention among visitors and buyers.

CIIF

The China International Industry Fair 2011 (CIIF), held Nov. 1-5 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, is a multi-faceted event, this year held alongside the Metalworking and CNC Machine Tool Show, Industry Automation Show, Environmental Protection Technology & Equipment Show, Information and Communication Technology Show, Energy Show, Scientific and Technological Innovation Show, New Energy Auto Show, and China Aerospace & Aviation Technology Show.

This multi-purpose trade fair broke a record by attracting 1,816 exhibitors from 21 countries occupying a venue of 150,000 square meters, up about 45% from last year's 103,500 square meters, with overseas exhibitors taking up 30% of the venue.

The five-day event drew 103,585 visitors from some 70 countries who witnessed the latest technologies and innovations; while leading companies like ABB, Siemens, Fanuc Kuka, Fuji Electronics, etc. chose CIFF as platform to globally debut products.

The CENS booth displayed a variety of buyer guides, including Taiwan Industrial Suppliers, Guidebook to Taiwan Hand Tools, CENS Furniture, CENS Lighting, CENS Hardware, Taiwan Machinery, Powersports Taiwan, TTG, CTG, etc.

EICMA

The 69th edition of the EICMA International Motorcycle Show, held Nov. 8-13 at Fiera Milano, Italy, drew over 500,000 visitors to Rho-Per to see some of the most sought-after powered two-wheelers.

Also extraordinary was the number of foreign visitors, both professionals and onlookers. The organizers were also encouraged by the increase in the number of foreign trade operators from the five continents: with 14% of trade operator from Asia, 77% from Europe, 7% from America, 1.5% from Africa, and 0.5% from Oceania.

The 2011 EICMA featured a venue of over 58,000 square meters; 1,462 different brands from 43 foreign countries; 7 pavilions showcasing new products and previews of PTWs; plus the outdoor space of 80,000 square meters set up for racing and demo activities. And the “The Green Planet” was an area reserved for sustainable mobility and hybrid and electric vehicles.

CENS promoted at its booth a variety of buyer guides, with Powersports, TTG and CTG gaining considerable attention during the six-day show.

InterLight Moscow

InterLight Moscow is a leading trade show in Russia and CIS states for decorative and technical lighting and building automation, having helped international companies to build business in Russia and the CIS states since 1995.

The 2011 InterLight Moscow, held Nov. 8-11 at ZAO Expocenter Fairgrounds, Moscow, was the 17th edition and attracted 532 exhibitors from 23 countries who were spread across 12,000 square meters, with the number of exhibitors up by 20% from that of last year.

With the Russian market for home & building automation technologies growing and “light/light planning” and “home & building automation” being implemented jointly, the organizer of InterLight Moscow started from 2011 to offer a new hall for “home & building automation.”

The lighting market in Russia has big potential as the market value is growing 15% annually and that of LED lighting even faster at 20%-30%, which is reflected in the ever expanding scale of InterLight Moscow.

CENS sent a senior circulation specialist to promote publications at the show, with CENS Lighting capturing ample attention among visitors and buyers.

METS

METS is a world-leading marine equipment trade show held in the Netherlands, showing a wide variety of anchoring & docking equipment, boat maintenance & care, boat building materials, covers & canvas, cooling & exhaust systems, deck hardware & rigging, engine & motors, fuel handling, galley equipment & appliances, gas installations, hydraulic systems, insulation, interior furnishings, lighting system, lubrication, etc.

METS 2011, incorporating the Super Yacht Pavilion (SYP) and held Nov. 15-17 at the Amsterdam RAI Convention Center, maintained a leading position in the industry by attracting 1,331 exhibitors and 19,323 visitors, the former of which slightly up 0.8% and the latter up 2.4% from the corresponding figures of the 2010 show.

The growing attendance underlined confidence in METS/SYP when other marine industry exhibitions in 2011 reported a drop in visitor levels; while the quality and quantity of visitors made for a vibrant, busy tree-day event.

As usual, CENS sent a local representative to promote its buyer guides, with Taiwan Machinery, Guidebook to Taiwan Hand Tools, and Taiwan Industrial Suppliers (TIS) being clearly popular.

KOAA

Korea Auto Parts & Auto-related Industries Show (KOAA) made its debut in 2004 and has taken place annually ever since, being the biggest automotive-related exhibition in South Korea to offer customized services and products, mainly auto electronics, car care & maintenance, interior & exterior products as well as various auto parts.

The 2011 KOAA, held Nov. 16-18 at the Korea Int'l Exhibition Center, Seoul, drew 384 exhibitors, with 43 from overseas and 341 domestic, as well as 30,012 visitors from 62 countries, of which, 1,573 were international buyers as world-renowned Audi-Volkswagen, PSA, Daimler AG, Suzuki, Daihatsu Motor, Magna, Aisin, Delphi, TRW, etc.

The CENS booth promoted various buyer guides at the show, with TTG, CTG and TIS being the most popular.

PPP Indonesia

Plastics & Rubber Indonesia/Propak Indonesia (PPP Indonesia) is the biggest plastics, rubber and package trade show in Southeast Asia and also one of a few trade shows in Indonesia with UFI Standard Audit Certificate.

With a wealthy middle class of over 30 million, Indonesia is a bigger market for plastic products than Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore combined. Besides, it is currently the world's second-largest rubber producer, after Thailand but expected to become No. 1 by 2020.

With a population of 240 million, the country's demand for processing and packaging machinery and materials is increasing, which is being met by this trade event.

PPP 2011, held Nov. 16-19 at the Jakarta International Expo, Indonesia, drew about 500 exhibitors from 39 countries spread across 13,000 square meters.

In addition to 120 domestic exhibitors, the foreign exhibitors came mainly from China (99), Taiwan (50), South Korea (21), and Austria (10), with national pavilions set up by groups from Austria, Germany, Italy, South Korea, the Netherlands, Singapore and Taiwan.

A number of conferences and seminars were held alongside, which were organized by the Indonesian Packaging Federation, the Indonesia Woven Polyolefin Manufacturers Association, and the Indonesian Downstream Plastics Association.

Auto Guangzhou

China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition (Auto Guangzhou) started in 2003 and has been held annually. Thanks to rapid economic growth that has driven a fast growing car market, Auto Guangzhou has become one of the leading auto exhibitions in the world and also an important platform for domestic and overseas auto enterprises to build image and explore the market in China.

Auto Guangzhou 2011, held Nov. 22-24 at China Import and Export Fair Complex, Guangzhou, China, entered its 9th edition and attracted over 800 exhibitors spread across 180,000 square meters. The theme of the show was “Tech/Future” and focused on the latest automotive technologies.

The three-day event drew an estimated 500,000 visitors, with about one-tenth being buyers.

CENS sent a local representative to promote its range of buyer guides, with TTG and CTG capturing the most attention among visitors and buyers.

Otomotiv 2011 (International Automotive Supply Industry Components, Accessories & Service Equipment Exhibition), organized by Instanbul Trade Fairs and held Nov. 24-27 at the CNR Expo Center in Instanbul, Turkey, drew many overseas exhibitors, most of which from Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Iran, Romania, Ukraine, Thailand, China and Taiwan.

The 17th edition of the event hosted over 600 exhibitors across 20,000 square meters and attracted about 40,000 visitors, with more than 4,000 being international buyers, and world-leading automakers as VW, Ford, GM, Opel, Mercedes, BMW, and Toyota among the exhibitors.

The exhibition included engines, transmissions, steering wheels, brakes, body parts, roof options, interior parts, electric parts, driver support systems, locking elements, safety elements, general accessories and special equipment, car trailers and light van trailers, wheels and tires, leverage mechanisms, testing & measurement equipment, coating equipment, corrosion-proofing applications, car washing equipment, vehicle maintenance equipment, lubricants and fluids.
