Taiwanese Golf Gear Maker Reportedly to Supply iPad Housing
2010/11/30 | By Judy LiTaipei, Nov. 30, 2010 (CENS)--Advanced International Multitech Co. (AIM), Taiwan's leading golf gear maker, will reportedly receive orders for iPad housings from Apple.
To diversify its line, AIM established a carbon-fiber composite department a few years ago to develop products for other industries. The department has turned out propellers for remote-controlled miniature airplanes to Thunder Tiger, a manufacturer of mini toys in Taiwan, and toy robot components for Tomiya, a Japanese toy manufacturer, generating monthly revenues of NT$40-50 million (US$1.25-1.56 million).
Thanks to the increasing orders from TaylorMade, a leading golf brand and one of its major clients, AIM is expected to ship golf products worth NT$600 million (US$18.75 million) in December, growing sizably by 20%.
