Taipei, July 14, 2010 (CENS)--Kuozui Motors Ltd., the local assembler of Toyotas, recently won permission from its Japanese partner to begin exporting locally assembled Toyota Altis compacts to six Mid-East nations.

Kuozui invested US$21.9 million to US$25 million to redesign the locally assembled Corolla Altis, which will be exported to Mid-East nations including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman.

The Taiwanese automaker will export 4,000 locally assembled cars to the Middle East per month from July, exporting about 24,000 of the model this year to make Kuozui the largest assembled-car exporter in Taiwan.

Hikita Ryo, the Japanese president of Kuozui, pointed out that his company began exporting the first batch of 1,800 locally assembled Corolla Altis to the Middle East in January 2009, but the monthly volume has been declining till April and May this year. In May, he added, the monthly export volume has recovered to about 1,000 units.

From July, Hikita said, Kuozui began shipping the model-changed Corolla Altis to the Middle East, with 1,600cc and 1,800cc as options.
