Taipei, Feb. 8. 2010 (CENS)--Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. scored revenue of NT$136.3 billion (US$4.2 billion at US$1:NT$32) in January, its best-ever revenue for the month in 10 years.
Industry watchers said the encouraging January result shows an extraordinarily strong market for electronics products in the first quarter. Institutional investors project the company's revenue for this year to hit NT$2.5 trillion (US$78 billion).
The January revenue represented a 47.56% surge from the same month last year and a 2.4% increase from a month earlier. In the past 10 years, the company normally saw January revenue slid 7% to 20% from the previous month.
Hon Hai's spokesperson C.A. Ding attributed the hefty growth mostly to strong demand in electronics market and estimated growth momentum in down-stream segment of the market to be stronger this year than last year. Hon Hai is contracted to make a variety of information-technology products, including personal computers, communications gadgets and consumer electronics.
Industry executives estimate the company's revenue for February to surge from one year earlier. Strong market, they project, would help scale down the company's seasonal decline rate to 15% in the first quarter from 20% it normally experienced in the past.
