Taipei, Dec. 4, 2008 (CENS)--The Acer e-Enabling Data Center (Acer eDC) of the Acer Inc., largest computer vendor in Taiwan, recently announced to set up a strategic alliance with Global Data Solutions Ltd. (GDS), the largest data-center service provider in mainland China.
The strategic alliance, dubbed Asia Pacific Data Center Alliance, is a first Taiwan-China joint project.
Ben Wan, president of Acer`s e-Enabling Services Business Group, pointed out that the new alliance aims to meet the increasing information technology (IT) outsourcing demands from cross-nation enterprises. With the help of integrated data-center services, he explained, cross-nation enterprises could get the same-level IT service quality as they prefer at their headquarters, through the introduction of their original IT service providers utilizing the alliance platform.
In addition, Wan added, enterprises could easily get comprehensive-range helps to solve all IT-related through only one contacting window of the Asia-Pacific IT outsourcing alliance.
Wan stressed that the tie-up was the first cooperation between leading data centers in Taiwan and mainland China, and Acer eDC hopes to further expand the unique partnership business model into other nations in the region so as to solicit more partners in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia etc.
