Taiwan's Industrial Computer Makers Post Shinning Sales Records for April
2008/05/09 | By Steve ChuangTaipei, May 9, 2008 (CENS)--Taiwan's industrial computer makers, including IBASE Technology Inc., Winmate Communication Inc., ICP Electronics Inc. and ADLINK Technology Inc., all enjoyed shining sales records for April, according to company sources.
Thanks to increasing shipment of gambling machines and industrial control systems, IBASE is very likely to post sales revenue of NT$150 million for April, the same as that for January. Institutional investors indicated that IBASE's new card dealing machine, which is scheduled to be delivered in May, is expected to score an increase of 20,000 motherboards in its single-month shipment, enabling the firm to challenge sales revenue of NT$500 million for the second quarter.
In fact, as most new large-sized casinos tend to open in Asia, demand for card dealing machines has infused significant growth momentum into IBASE's shipment. As a result, shipment of IBASE's new card dealing machines, which has been ordered by casinos in Las Vegas, Macaw and cities of West Europe, is expected to amount to 5,000 units in May. Institutional investors indicated that the hot-selling product will raise contribution of gambling machines to 32% of the firm's total revenue this year from last year's 22%.
Winmate recorded a historical high of NT$142 million in sales revenue in April, sharply up 74.5% from a year earlier and 4.9% from a month earlier. The company is enjoying growing shipment of embedded systems and digital signages, which together contribute 23% to its sales revenue plus high gross profits. Worth mentioning is that the two product lines are expected to generate up to 40% of the company's annual revenue this year. In the first four months of this year, the company has scored aggregate revenue of NT$477 million, representing a sharp growth of 51% from a year earlier.
In the meantime, because of orders for sports lottery machines, ICP is expected to maintain the same revenue level of NT$359 million in April as done in March, institutional investors estimated. Besides, with its plant in China's Shanghai to start mass production, the company will likely rake in higher single-quarter revenue in the second quarter.
Also, ADLINK will see its April revenue challenge a new single-month high of NT$220 million and report second-quarter revenue of NT$780 million, thanks to its growing sales in Europe, China and Taiwan.
