Taipei, Feb. 16, 2007 (CENS)--The Taiwan International Motorcycle Industry Show (Motorcycle Taiwan) is the only exhibition in the world that brings together exhibitors from throughout the motorcycle industry. Motorcycle Taiwan will be held for the second time on May 18-20, 2007 at Exhibition Hall 3 of the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) and is expected to be better and better this year than even its successful debut in 2006.
The Taipei-based China Economic News Service (CENS), publisher of the Taiwan Economic News and a leading provider of print, trade fair, and online information for the automotive, motorcycle, machinery, hardware, furniture, and lighting sectors, has been invited to serve as co-organizer of the Motorcycle Taiwan show starting this year.
The show`s organizer, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), reports that Motorcycle Taiwan 2007 will attract about 160 local and foreign exhibitors who will occupy around 385 booths displaying new, high-quality, innovative products. This is a 25% increase in numbers over 2006. Next year the show will be moved to the TWTC`s Exhibition Hall 1, where around 200 exhibitors are expected to occupy 450 to 500 booths.
Mario Tsai, a section manager in TAITRA`s Exhibition Department, says that visitors to this year`s show will be able to view all of the international big-bore "monster" motorcycle models-Yamaha, Ducati, Bimota, Piaggio, others--displayed by their Taiwan agents. Some of the displayed brands will be new to the Taiwan market.
Visitors will also be able to witness the rapid development of Taiwan`s motorcycle industry by visiting all of the major makers of complete powered two-wheelers (PTWs) under one roof, including the Taiwan Golden Bee Co. (TGB), Unilli Motor Co., Hartford Industrial Co., and Cosmos Motor, as well as over 110 parts and accessory suppliers from five countries (Taiwan, mainland China, Pakistan, India, and Vietnam).
TAITRA says that four major concepts will be on show: "Via-Taiwan," Made-by-Taiwan," tuning parts and accessories, and big-bore motorcycles.
Quality Parts Attract Growing Numbers of International Buyers
Taiwan`s high-quality, high-safety, and high-durability motorcycle parts have been attracting increasing numbers of key international buyers to Taiwan, according to TAITRA. BMW will send a procurement delegation this year, TAITRA says, and Kiska, a major design company based in Belgium, is also expected to look for cooperative partners at the show.
This year`s show will feature about 100 motorcycles and scooters with sophisticated styling and performance enhancements. Buyers from around the world will be able to talk with the exhibitors about the parts, accessories, and technologies used in these hot-rod vehicles.
The show will also have a series of industry seminars on the agenda, enabling key motorcycle industry figures to share their insights and experiences on a variety of issues. There will, for example, be a "Motorcycle Design" seminar given by Gerald Kiska, CEO of Kiska Design; "How to Become Suppliers to Major American ATV Manufacturers," by Chuck Crone, purchasing director of Polaris; "The Motorcycle Market in Europe," by Jacques Compagne, secretary general of the Association of European Motorcycle Manufacturers; and "Global Opportunities for Taiwan`s Motorcycle Industry," by George Lin, president of the Taiwan Golden Bee Co.
C.T. Kuo, vice president of CENS, emphasizes that his company is eager to play an active role in Motorcycle Taiwan 2007, which presents a perfect opportunity to show the company`s long-term dedication to the island`s motorcycle industry.
CENS, Kuo says, will provide a comprehensive range of services to international exhibitors and buyers at the show. It will help foreign buyers to access information related to the show, for example, and provide assistance to foreign exhibitors that plan to participate.
CENS publishes the Taiwan Motorcycle and Parts Guide (TMG) magazine, a leading trade publication that focuses on the provision of supplier information, industry reports, technical highlights, and new-product information. TMG is published twice a year, in April and September, enabling CENS to maintain close relationships with Taiwan suppliers, including those that offer complete vehicles such as scooters, motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, go-carts, and buggies, as well as parts, performance items, and manufacturing and maintenance equipment. The company and its magazine participate regularly in major international motorcycle trade shows such as INTERMOT in Cologne, EICMA in Milan, and Dealer Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana to collect detailed buyer information that helps advertisers pinpoint export opportunities.
Valuable Services
In addition, Kuo comments, CENS and TMG offer a uniquely valuable service to international buyers by providing them referral if they wish to visit supplier companies in Taiwan. The company will organize factory tours and help foreign visitors with travel around the island if necessary.
The 2006 exhibition attracted around 1,000 key international buyers, mainly from Japan, the U.S., Thailand, mainland China, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, Italy, and South Korea. TAITRA and CENS expect this year`s show to be even bigger and more international, with a greater range of products and more buyers.
Motorcycle Taiwan 2007 will showcase assembled vehicles including motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, electric scooters, and electric bicycles, along with engines and parts, vehicle frames, accessories, vehicle testing and inspection equipment, and noise and emissions testing gear.
According to TAITRA, Motorcycle Taiwan will be a must event for all the top names in the domestic motorcycle industry. It will help to consolidate Taiwan`s reputation as a supplier of top-quality, competitively-priced motorcycle products.
